Data
Collection
Data collection services that
gather the business
information you need into one
clean, ready-to-use database.
What Is a Data Collection Service?
A data collection service finds the information your business needs, gathers it from many places, and puts it into one organized file. It could be a list of companies in your target market, supplier details, product information, competitor data, or business contacts such as emails, phone numbers, websites, and LinkedIn profiles. You get a clean spreadsheet or database that your team can start using right away.
Checked Before It
Reaches You
Every record is checked against reliable sources. Duplicates are removed, missing details are filled in where possible, and anything that can’t be confirmed is clearly marked. You know exactly which data you can rely on.
What Kind of Data Can
Be Collected for You?
You tell us what information you need and where it should come from. We collect it, organize it, and deliver it in one clean file.

Business and B2B Prospect Data
Lists of companies that fit your target market, sorted by industry, location, size, or type, with company name, website, address, phone number, business email, and LinkedIn page. Your sales and marketing teams get a ready-made list of who to contact.
Example: every home care agency in Ontario, with their key business details.

Supplier, Product, and Competitor Data
Details on manufacturers, wholesalers, and distributors; product names, specifications, and publicly listed prices; and competitor services and locations. Everything is put side by side so you can compare options quickly.
Example: a comparison sheet of 50 packaging suppliers across the USA.

Your Own Files and Records, Organized
Customer lists, enquiry forms, survey answers, and sales records are often spread across emails, spreadsheets, and old systems. They’re gathered into one consistent file, with matching column names and no duplicates, so your team can finally search and use them.
Example: five messy Excel files merged into one clean customer database.

Database Building and
Data Verification Services
Need a new database built from scratch, or an old one cleaned up? Tell us what you need, and the work is done to your exact fields, sources, and format.
How Your Custom
Database Is Built
- You share your brief. Tell us who or what you need data on (industry, location, company type, or product category) and which fields you want.
- A template is agreed first. Column names, formats, and categories are set before any work begins, so the final file matches how your team works.
- Researchers collect the data. Information comes from company websites, business directories, industry associations, public records, and other permitted sources.
- Every record is checked. Duplicates are removed, gaps are filled where possible, and the source of each record is noted.
- You get your file. It’s delivered in Excel, CSV, or a format ready for your CRM. Large projects are sent in batches, so your team can start sooner.
Data Verification, Cleaning, and Updates
Business data goes out of date fast. People change jobs, companies move, and phone numbers stop working. Old records waste your team’s time and bounce your emails. Verification fixes that.
- Contact details checked. Emails, phone numbers, websites, and addresses are checked against current sources.
- Company details confirmed. Names, industries, locations, and job titles are compared with up-to-date information.
- Gaps filled in. Missing fields such as a website, phone number, or LinkedIn page are researched and added where they can be found.
- Duplicates and errors removed. Repeated records, spelling mistakes, and mixed formats are cleaned up.
- Uncertain records flagged. Anything that can’t be confirmed is clearly marked, so you know exactly which data you can trust.
This works for new lists and for the CRM data you already have. Regular updates can also be scheduled, so your database stays fresh.
Data Collection FAQs
Data collection is gathering and organizing information into a usable file, such as a company list, supplier database, product sheet, or your own records combined into one. Data mining (as Votiko offers it) is focused research to find decision-makers inside target companies and their contact details. Many businesses use both: first collect the right companies, then mine the right people. (Link “data mining” to the Data Mining page.)
Data comes from permitted sources that fit your project. These include company websites, business directories, industry association listings, public business records, online marketplaces, public business profiles, and files you share with us. Platform rules are followed for every source, and the source of each record can be included in your file so you can check it.
Every record is checked before delivery. Duplicates are removed, details are compared against current sources, and anything that can’t be confirmed is clearly flagged. Business information changes over time, so no database stays 100% accurate forever. That’s why scheduled updates are available to keep it fresh.
Yes. Any files, customer lists, or sales records you share are used only for your project. They’re never sold or shared, and they’re handled under a confidentiality agreement if you need one. Access is limited to the team working on your project.
The cost depends on how many records you need, how many fields each record has, how hard the information is to find, and how much checking is needed. A simple company list costs less than a detailed database with verified contacts. You’ll get a clear quote before work starts. You can also start with a free sample.
Small projects can be ready within a few days. Larger databases are delivered in batches, so your team can start using the first part while the rest is completed. You’ll get a timeline with your quote, based on the size and difficulty of the project.
Yes. Data is collected for businesses in healthcare and medical clinics, health insurance, real estate and property management, hotels and travel, cleaning, auto repair, finance, e-commerce and dropshipping, logistics, moving and storage, pet services, home care, telecom, technical support, security and surveillance, and Airbnb and short-term rentals. If your market is very niche, ask, and we’ll tell you honestly what can be found.
Yes. Business details change all the time, so regular updates can be scheduled, for example monthly or quarterly. Each update checks your existing records, adds new ones that match your criteria, and flags anything that changed, so your database doesn’t go stale.
